Born in Larnaka, Cyprus, and migrated to the United States with her family after the Turkish invasion in 1974, Andrie Steliou has proven to be a true advocate for global education.
Proudly identifying as American-Cypriot, Andrie brings many years of experience in the field of education. She has consistently demonstrated her passion for education through innovative projects around the world.
Andrie’s career began in Cyprus, where she was instrumental in establishing a new private school in Larnaca. At the time, the school only had 30 students. Today, that same school has educated thousands of students from diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
Years later, Andrie was appointed Head of Linguistics in Dubai, UAE, where she had the opportunity to train people from over 170 different nationalities at organizations such as Abu Dhabi Oil Company (ADNOC), Ferrari World, Knowledge Group, and Abu Dhabi University. Her ongoing dedication to education led her to collaborate with Harvard Business School graduates, which gave her the opportunity to create online courses and offer professional development to individuals worldwide, with a focus on making education more accessible in terms of both time and cost.
Her journey as an education consultant continued with high caliber companies across the United States, United Kingdom, India, and East Asia. These companies introduced the Advanced Entry Qualification Diploma Courses regulated by OFQUAL and WES, which are globally recognized. The online platform allows applicants over the age of 16 and above to study in their own country for the advance entry diplomas and receive exemptions to higher education in as little as three to six months for each level, thus save time and money for a bachelor or master university degree.
This development led to the creation of Diploma Credits, an online platform offering Level 3, 4, and 5 diploma courses accessible to individuals worldwide. The platform enables students to apply for advanced entry qualifications to internationally accredited universities, with a minimum requirement of 10–12 years of prior education. Additionally, Diploma Credits Education Consultants assist candidates by helping them upload their documents after an academic expert review.
Andrie Steliou has been nominated in the Education category for the CYDIA Awards 2025, hosted by the Cyprus Diaspora Forum. She is one of the final four nominees for her significant contributions to educational development and her efforts to make higher education more accessible, efficient, and affordable. Her innovative approach allows students to pursue a bachelor’s degree solely through assignments, without the need for exams.
We encourage you to share your vote for the Cyprus Diaspora Forum CYDIA Awards 2025 for its contribution for Education Development around the world.
